The TimeProvider 5000 is an IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol (PTP) Grandmaster that enables communications service providers to build a stable, robust, and reliable network infrastructure. An expansion shelf capability that includes Synchronous Ethernet and an advanced PTP profile make this timing and synchronization system capable of supporting network needs today and in the future. A carrier-grade design with flexible capabilities is vital to enable circuit to packet network migration for high-speed data services and wireless backhaul, and to deliver 3G, 4G/LTE and LTE-Advanced wireless, as well as broadband multimedia to the network edge and customer premise.

Resilient Solution
The dual input/output clock cards in active/standby mode ensure that there is no impact on the performance when failover occurs. The IMC card has support for dual GNSS inputs for redundancy.
Flexibility
The TimeProvider 5000 supports user-configurable PTP profiles and optional NTP server license available for networks that require that service. An extension shelf is also available.
State of the Art
The TimeProvider 5000 provides a hardware-based time and packet processing that delivers high client capacity at full rates: up to 2,000 clients at up to 128 messages per second.
