Syncworks is the industry-leader in providing custom frequency and timing solutions to telecommunications providers, utilities and cable companies across the US.

We’re seeking a skilled and reliable Level 4 Telecom Installer to join our fast-growing technical field services team. In this role, you’ll perform high-quality installations of telecom and data infrastructure in facilities such as central offices, mobile switch centers, data centers, and enterprise sites. This is a travel-focused position, open to candidates located anywhere in the U.S., with most work taking place at customer locations across the country.

Our ideal candidate is an experienced technician who understands RBOC standards, works well independently, and takes pride in delivering top-tier installations in complex, high-security environments. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Level 4 quality telecom infrastructure installations in central offices and similar environments
  • Install, dress, label, and terminate AC/DC power cables, data cabling, and grounding infrastructure
  • Assemble, mount, and secure racks, frames, fuse panels, equipment cabinets, and cable trays
  • Read and interpret BOMs, work orders, MOPs, network diagrams, schematics, and installation standards
  • Conduct site surveys and prepare documentation for quoting, auditing, and job planning
  • Follow RBOC and industry standards for quality, safety, and operational security
  • Install and configure BITS clocks and GPS antenna systems (a plus)
  • Perform testing and validation of installed hardware, documenting results per customer expectations
  • Interface professionally with customers and site supervisors to coordinate site access, review project status, and maintain open communication
  • Maintain tools, inventory, and project records accurately
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, and internal installation teams to ensure smooth execution
  • Travel up to 90% of the time, including some night work or maintenance window cutovers

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in telecom equipment installation
  • Strong working knowledge of RBOC standards, MOPs, and quality inspection procedures
  • Comfortable lifting and moving equipment/tools up to 50 lbs
  • Able to route, identify, label, and terminate both power and data cables
  • Proficient in interpreting installation drawings and network documentation
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills, with ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the continental U.S.
  • Comfortable working in data centers, central offices, and high-security environments
  • High school diploma required; technical or college degree preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); willing to learn new digital tools

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct outbound prospecting and cold calling to generate new business opportunities

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for a Technical Support Specialist who thrives in dynamic environments and is eager to learn across disciplines. This hands-on, lab-based role is ideal for someone with a technical degree and a strong foundation in electronics and networks who wants exposure to fieldwork, customer interaction, and technical support.

You’ll support the team by testing and staging timing equipment in our lab, assisting with logistics and RMA coordination, contributing to documentation, and serving as a technical reference for internal teams and customers. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to grow into a larger role in Telcom/datacenter, network timing, product support, or technical project management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test and stage timing and networking equipment in a lab environment
  • Review and interpret network diagrams and installation plans
  • Gathering requirements from customers
  • Support hardware logistics coordination and track RMA status
  • Communicate with customers and vendors as a technical point of contact
  • Help create Visio network diagrams and technical documentation (MOPs, BOMs, etc.)
  • Follow Telcordia and Syncworks installation standards during hardware setup

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Networking, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical field

  • Equivalent military/civilian experience with electronics maintenance and repair
  • Hands-on lab or field experience with networking or telecom equipment
  • Understanding of IP networking fundamentals and basic Layer 1–3 concepts
  • Understanding of electrical theory and frequency/IP based timing.
  • Experience with GNSS/GPS, installation, and deployment
  • Familiarity with Telcordia/NEBS installation standards
  • Technical writing skills and the ability to produce professional documentation
  • Willingness to travel within the United States (potentially up to 25% after training)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Visio, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience navigating a CRM platform (e.g., HubSpot or Salesforce)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally (non-regular basis)
