TimeProvider 4100 1G/10G Output Module

Related Products

The TimeProvider® 4100 is a gateway clock, a new class of synchronization product that accepts multiple inputs from Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), Synchronous Ethernet (SynE), and 1588 PTP Grandmaster Clock and E1/T1 digital transmission links, and distributes timing flows to multiple end points such as base stations. A gateway clock benefits from multiple layers of protection leveraging other assets in the core of the network.

TimeProvider 4100 is a best-in-class 1588 grandmaster complemented by extensive port fan-out for PTP, Network Time protocol (NTP), SyncE, and legacy building integrated timing supplies (BITS). With multiple ports for current, legacy, and future networks that can be connected to multiple base stations for 4G and 5G deployments, the device offers customers a cost-effective solution that can be easily adapted for a wide variety of use cases.

Flexible Technology
The TimeProvider 4100 supports legacy and new technologies such as Frequency, Phase, E1/T1, IEEE 1588. Additionally, it handles different modes of operation: Gateway Clock, HP BC, ePRTC.
State of the Art
The TimeProvider 4100 supports existing and future standards/trends, including 1588 Phase profiles, and PRTC compliance. It is a modern platform with the latest electronics - FPGA.
Resilient Solution
Capable to manage more than one PRS. As a back up to GNSS, the TimeProvider 4100 handles also PTP Input, APTS, AAC. Available with MiniOCXO, OCXO, or Rubidium oscillator, and dual DC power inputs.
Management
Provides monitoring for PTP, 1pps, and a presentation GUI. Compatible with TimePictra platform that provides full FCAPS for monitoring and management of customer's Sync Portfolio available.

TimeProvider 4100 2.2 Release update:
Our TP4100 is an IEEE 1588 v2 PTP grandmaster with PTP, NTP and SyncE capabilities. It meets Primary Reference Time Clock Class A, Class B and enhanced Primary Reference Time Clock (ePRTC) specifications and Class C and D specifications for multidomain boundary clock. Here are some key highlights of our TP4100 features:

  • High capacity: 1,000 PTP unicast clients at 128 PPS
  • Reliable fanless passive thermal operation
  • Redundancy via software mechanisms using two active and standby units
  • Patented enhanced APTS with Automatic Asymmetry Compensation (AAC)
  • Zero-trust security grandmaster with strong differentiated timing security
  • Performance monitoring for phase and legacy signals

In the virtual Primary Reference Time Clock (vPRTC) architecture, to minimize the dependency on GNSS, receivers are only required in the core enhanced Primary Reference Timing Clock (ePRTC) sites where they can be protected and monitored to shield the network from the risk of GNSS jamming or spoofing threats.

The TP4100 ensures redundancy via bi-directional east and west timing flows to local source clocks in aggregation sites with 100 ns of accuracy.

You can configure our TP4100 clock in the following ways:

  • In ePRTC operation mode to provide 30 ns accuracy at the source of timing chain
  • As a high-performance boundary clock to deliver high accuracy over a secure optical network
  • As a gateway clock on the protected PTP southbound timing flow towards 5G Remote Radio Heads (RRHs)
