TimeProvider 2300

Symmetricom’s TimeProvider® 2700 Edge Grandmaster Clock and TimeProvider® 2300 Edge Boundary Clock are a new type of IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol (PTP) equipment designed for deployment in the mobile backhaul network, at macro base station sites, or small cell aggregation locations. These Edge Master Clocks are optimized to enable economic deployment of small cells and meet the stringent timing and synchronization requirements of 4G/LTE networks following the approach anticipated in the proposed ITU-T G.8275.2 standard for partial on-path support.

TimeProvider 500

The TimeProvider 500 is a standalone Precision Time Protocol (PTP) client that enables network service providers to accelerate the upgrade of their existing network infrastructure to accommodate the next-generation, packet-based timing and synchronization solutions. As a standalone device, TP 500 enables seemless migration of wireless base stations, DSLAM’s, LTE equipment and other end-point network devices to PTP, providing immediate cost savings and a quick return on investment.

TimeProvider 5000

The TimeProvider® 5000 is an IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol (PTP) Grandmaster that enables communications service providers to build a stable, robust and reliable network infrastructure. An NTP server option and expansion shelf capabilities that include Synchronous Ethernet and an advanced PTP profile make this timing and synchronization system capable of supporting network needs today and in the future. A carrier-grade design with flexible capabilities is vital to enable circuit to packet network migration for high-speed data services and wireless backhaul, and to deliver 3G, 4G/LTE and LTE-Advanced wireless, as well as broadband multimedia to the network edge and customer premise.

SSU-2000 PTP Kits

The Symmetricom IEEE 1588 Blades are fully integrated into the SSU 2000 system. These Cards can be installed as single servers or redundant pairs in any available master or expansion shelf output slot. PTP capacity scales up at a rate of up to 400 full rate clients per card. Front-access IEEE 1588 traffic ports utilize Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP) modules for flexibility to support 100 Base-T electrical or 1000Base-X optical or electrical interfaces. All configuration and management is consolidated through SSU 2000 system management ports to maintain security and isolation from IEEE 1588 ports.
